Summer Skin Care Tips
Summer is here! Who does not love those fun, warm sun filled days? I garden more and make sure I protect my skin. Let’s talk about some summer skin care tips. I use an SPF of at least 30 and wear a hat. You could always notice me in pictures, I am the one wearing a hat.
UV light causes photo-aging in the form of brown spots, uneven skin and wrinkles, this damage occurs whether you have burned your skin or not. When your skin is exposed to too much sun the skin is damaged. The barrier protection is decreased leading to dry skin and inflammation. There is also a production of reactive oxygen molecules that affect healthy cell growth. This will lead to a breakdown of collagen and elastin.
Here are some of our favorite tips and tricks for summer skin care:
Summer skin care tips #1
Exfoliate your skin. You want to refresh the skin and increase the skin’s turnover. Exfoliating is a great way to do this. Exfoliation removes dead, dulling skin debris to prevent congestion and improve hydration from toners and moisturizers. Use a body scrub on dry skin prior to showering. This Lemon Polish Scrub will exfoliate dry skin leaving it soft and supple. If you like a lemon smell, this product is for you. It has natural sugar, fruit acids and ginger extract to help refresh the sun exposed skin.

Never skip the sun protection. You may think that you do not need sun protection on cloudy days but you do. The summer sun is strong and sun damage is still occurring. It’s not enough to just apply sunscreen.: you must apply enough, and apply frequently. Studies indicate that most people do not apply nearly as much daylight protection as they should. Plan on reapplying sunscreen every two hours. We recommend having DAYLIGHT Radiance Moisturizer Broad Spectrum Sunscreen SPF 32 with LSR10® . This tinted moisturizer provides chemical free sun protection, hydration, vitamin C for skin brightening and coverage. I love this product!. I wear it everyday, it is light and absorbs quickly.
Remember to protect your lips, ears and scalp as well. A wide brim hat is perfect to protect the scalp and ears. A chemical free sunscreen can protect your lips. Eye glasses can further help protect the delicate skin around your eyes. The backs of your hands can give away your age, ensure you are applying your sunscreen.

Keep your skin moisturized with LAVISH Ultra Rich Body Butter, a decadent blend containing an antioxidant-rich superfruit complex and jojoba oil.
